To assessed the radiation protection knowledge and practices among radiographers in selected government hospitals in Kampala A cross-sectional study was carried out among practicing radiographers in all government hospitals in Kampala, Uganda. The study was carried out from June 2022 to july2023. A self- administered questionnaire was given out to 32 participants to answer and the research observed imaging practices with guidance of the checklist. Data collected was compiled by Microsoft Excel and any other data analysis software deemed appropriate was used to evaluate the data that was gathered. The study revealed that over seventy percent of the radiographers had the required knowledge on radiation protection. However adherence to radiation protection measures and practices was found to be unsatisfactory. Patient radiation protection practices by the radiographers were generally low; this was mainly observed by radiographers below working experience of fewer than 5 years. Significant number of radiographer had undertaken continuous medical education on radiation protection. The adherence to radiation protection practices was unsatisfactory, and the knowledge of radiation protection practices was generally high, but that is not enough. There is need for more continuous reminding and training of radiographers on radiation protection to ensure knowledge is put into practice to enhance proper safety measures to radiology department staff and the general publicen_US
