dc.description.abstract | Blood Bank Management System is a web-based application designed to automate the different operations in Blood Banks. The system makes it easy to give information regarding blood type, date of donation, available blood group and many more. It also enables management of blood details such as the donor’s details and the requestor with in the hospital and after implementation of the system, blood searching process and donation appointments is expected to be faster, easier and reliable. Then the administrator views the donor side and blood requested by the users plus their details. The purpose of this report is to give a detailed description of all activities that were done by group 18 through outreach development period for example data collection, analysis, process design and implementation. It has different tools and applications that have been used during Web-based system development with the steps and activities involved. In some were the challenges faced during the period in printing Questionnaire, reports and the proposal. During the data collection they were also some respondents who were biased and were unwilling to disclose information especially workers at Mengo hospital and this made difficulty speaking with some people who were in high authority positions. The project team managed to achieve the main objective which was to develop a web-based blood bank management system and this gave an opportunity to put into practice the theory and the practical skills and knowledge from class through developing a working system that solves real world problem in the work environment. | en_US |
