The effect of studio practice on student's performance in painting at Margret Trowel School of Industrial and Fine Art.
Abstract
The purpose of the study was to investigate the effect of studio practice on students performance in painting at Margret Trowell School of Industrial and Fine Art and guided by the following objectives; establish the facilities and resources that can be used for studio practice at MTSIFA, determine the levels of performance in painting at MTSIFA and make suggestions for improvement in student’s performance in painting at MTSIFA
I used grounded theory to acquire data for analysis, with the help of diagnostic research design and stratified random sampling. I obtained information from respondents through the use of an interview guide as well as a questionnaire. In the organization of the data, I made use of qualitative data analysis. The findings were; that there are 2 painting studios available and 83 oil painting students. In conclusion, there is inadequate studio practice affecting students performance in oil painting.
