The study was about imagery in selected Lubaale Buganda songs. The purpose was to know how images enhance meaning with in these songs and therefore to achieve this purpose, the study was guided with two objectives :namely: a) to examine the language in the songs in order to identify images, b) to examine the effectiveness of images in developing meaning. The study adopted a qualitative study design where concentration was on number of songs and images created in them but not the number of participants. The study results revealed that most of the songs carried visual images and a few had auditory images which was seen in the lyrics of songs recorded. The study was concluded that emphasis should be placed in teaching students images in songs basing on the aspect of oral literature and also little improvisation should be done so as to make these songs carry their meaning without eliminating words.en_US
